each year at the end of the summer i take my torts to the vets to have them wormed as a matter of routine. ive never found any worms after they have been done. this year penny, my new tort has passed a few worms. it makes me feel sick when i see them but im sure she will feel better for getting rid of them. im glad, now that i do take them, as i wouldnt have know that penny had them.....tiggy :shock: :shock: :shock:

I have only ever had to worm my tortoises twice in over thirty years:0)
I dont like to medicate unless its really needed.
All tortoises carry worms, it is only a problem when they get over loaded with them.

sandy, how do you know if they have worms?. do you see them when they poo?.how did you know that your torts needed worming....tiggy

You do see the worms in their poo, they are long and very obvious:))
I generally do check poos monthly, sad I know:0)

i must admit i do look at there poo each time i pick it up and ive never seen any worms. since worming them, penny has passed loads of worms,four days on the trot. they look like round worms that puppies get. i dont think i will be eating spag boll for a long while.....tiggy

I check there poo regular as i like to clean there enclosure and house daily.
