ooooh I do seem to be asking a lot of questions lately and they may be obvious to most of you, but I sometimes just need to be reassured on things.

I have nutrabol, calcium carbonate, limestone flour and vionate. Which ones do I need to be giving to the hatchlings?

At the moment I sprinkle their weeds with either limestone flour, calcium carbonate, or grated cuttlefish on a rota basis. Should they have nutrabol aswell? I don't think the vionate is suitable for the babies, so I haven't given them this one.

If anybody could just clarify which ones are best I would be most grateful.

Thank you

Gail

I would put a dish of limestone flour and a chunk of cuttlefish in their enclosure and I would sprinkle Nutrobal on the food because it contains the vitamins and minerals they need for healthy growth.

hi Gail im sorry i did see your post but was going off to work earlier and didnt want to answer without thinking lol.i agree with Sue totally about the cuttlefish and limestone flour.also must say the most reccommended and according to the contents most suitable vitamin supplement is nutrobal.i find with nutrobal it absorbs moisture so unless kept very dry is hard to sprinkle and gets a strong smell to it.i have found some hatchlings arent so keen to eat it.i use vionate when this happens and havent any problems so far.i would try the nutrobal but if they arent eating it then i would use vionate as an alternative.

an old trick I use from cat breeding days is to keep the Nutrobal in the fridge, the cold keeps the smell down ;) and as long as they eat the food before it warms up too much, they don't seem to notice it, :D I sprinkle it on one side of the leaves and try to get the other side on the top. Also some rice grains in the pot helps to keep it dry enough to sprinkle. :D

i tried the fridge idea Sue but it got damp even with the lid on.maybe it was all the weeds in there doing it.nutrobal is the better option for hatchlings so i might try the rice as well next time.

Once again I must thank you all for your advice. The hatchlings don't actually seem to be phased by any of the supplements at the moment. I was worried I would be feeding the wrong one, or using too many. I am working really hard with all your help, for smooth, slow and healthy growth. So hopefully there won't be any problems with them later on.
