I used to be against bathing .. in nature they ll bath when they feel like it was my thoughts.
But after long conversation with Chris and tried soaking hatchlings I must admit it do good for them ... nice growth and exchange of water deposits. ..... Maybe first I forgot that if it rains down south .. IT RAINS ... and those small guys and big are often allmost swimming ( They can swim btw) around late time of the year. My advice is soak weekly for 20 mins ( Chris)or place the small guys in the water container and itll crawl out itself( Wegehaupt).

Would you say smooth growth is more than diet alone... As in moist substrate, rather than dry and keeping them hydrated...
I've seen some superb pictures of very smooth Iberas about 4&5 years old and wondered what their secret is ;)

any thoughts on humid hides? Does this help??

Allthough I might be outnumbered even weed and plant cant be fed ad libitum ... why? ... imo in real life or nature the amount and avaible plants and weed is very different throughout the year ... lotta wet goodies in the spring but itll all slowly dry up to the crucial fiberrich things and very little protein.
So Id keep it slow ... provide outdoor enclosures ( if possible) and the should be humid when they have dug down for the night.
That and the water thing I wrote above will after my opinion give nice smooth growth .. :) ( Dont forget med torts hibernate too )

Edit .... does this make sense at all?
