I am trying to Hibernate my 3 year old female Hermans tortoise. I have been trying to follow the guide online but she seems to be losing a lot of weight. I was folloing the Hibernation Guide by Dawn Shelley
DIVIDE (/) their WEIGHT by their LENGTH 3 times, eg 82 / 7.5 / 7.5 /7.5 = 0.19

Then using the table below you can work out if they are safe to hibernate;
< 0.16 = Underweight *DO NOT HIBERNATE*
0.17 - 0.18 = Light for hibernation *MONITER WEIGHT CLOSELY*
0.19 - 0.22 = Safe to hibernate
> 0.23 = Overweight *MONITOR WEIGHT*

She is 9.9 long but her weight is down to 164g

She seemed to be slowing down and I tried reducing her light and food but she fired up again clawing at the side of her cage and running up and down.
Her outside heal seems fine but I am worried. Do I just keep her up?

Windown is best done in a cold room, as otherwise she will never be cold enough to hibernate.

I agree with Sandy, as for her weight she works out at just over 16 so provided she is health should be fine. As I explained these calculations don't always work - one of my girls (according to the Jackson Ratio Graph and working out method) comes out underweight but I know that she is healthy, she has been vet checked, she's produced two beautiful babies, eats like a horse (was the last one heating this year!) and steadily puts weight on throughout the year
