thats looks an excellent mix and very usful link.i am a little wary about clover in particular with hatchlings i do feed it though it is nutricious and they all love.it is high in protein so i dont like to over rely on it or include it all all the time.if you have several hatchlings together the more dominant individuals will often get the choice items so be aware what they are eating.i believe this is often why we see such different growth rates among hatchlings kept and fed together.i find chopping and mixing hatchlings feed does help to control this a little.this is just my own opinion and part of what i base my feeding regime and diet on.i have been lucky and i think see good results .but you should observe your own tortoises feeding to make an informed decision.my feeding and diet is based on a lot of years doing just that, it is very difficult to explain, so just watch and know who favours what food and the effect it has on their individual development.

Hi Julia. Thanks for the link. I have been looking for something to grow to feed Legs 11 on. As you know he still doesn't eat by himself. And my theory is that if his food is anchored into the ground he will be able to pull pieces off without it moving with him. He has an overbite, and hair lip. so he hasn't got a scissor bite which would cut pieces off. I have ordered some, and hope this may help him to feed himself.

well some people say dont chop but i do this for all growing youngsters for the stated reasons.all im saying is it works for me.i must add i dont ever see any over or undershot beaks.when indoors they are fed on a hard surface.i have heard tearing large leaves apart keeps their beaks trim.i have my doubts.

I think you'll be pleased with them.. Just give them a shake to get an even mix when sowing. You could pour them in a food bag a shake them up...
I've sown 4 more big planters . I'm going to put these in the greenhouse in the winter, to feed to the hatchlings.. Well I hope they continue to grow in there, this will be my first year in trying.. So we'll see :)
My hatchlings have been tucking into the young seedlings even Zorro, so I hope legs will be able to.. X

I can't seem to grow plantain in topsoil :(
I have some tubs that we had new potatoes in, they were yummy, by the way.. And I sprinkled the seeds in those tubs and it's all growing :)

I have the best broad leaf plantain ever. And where's it growing??? Inbetween the patio slabs. And because Tilly wanders the garden I don't want to get rid of it just yet. But my next major project is to relay all the slabs. So unless I can replant it, I don't think she will be helping herself to it next year.

I would of thought it would replant fairly easy , as it is a weed after all...
Listen to us, replanting weeds..
I do it all the time.. Hubby digs the weeds up in the veg patch and I replant them
in the front garden..
Then a passer by says to me , did I know that's sow thistle..... Erm YES !!!
