hi the idea behind this forum is to have a new topic for each month of the year then members are able to post pictures of weeds and wild plants they are feeding during that month.most websites about weeds show flowering plants and this isnt always how we see them when we are picking.i thought that perhaps some pictures of the whole plant in the original location and if possible pictures of the leaves close up with any positive identifying features visible or described in the text.names arent as important but are welcome so they can then be cross referenced with other sites to check their suitability as food.a monthly diary will of course show what is likely to be found and where during different and often extreme weather conditions.i hope this works and we all can contribute and benefit from it.dont worry if the topics get out of sequence they will be clearly marked.if you post in the wrong month its not a problem the post can be moved by myself,Sandy or Dawn (lilacgeorge)please just let one of us know so the diary is accurate.thanks for taking the time to read this i hope you all approve of this section.

I've got a couple of questions.... (that Im sure others will be thinking too..)

1. can people comment in the gallery - ie can I put a reply on your post thats already in there asking questions - or would you rather it be just pictures? If so where can people ask questions, make comments?
yes of course you can comment and do whatever you want.i just think it will be easier to look through later if its kept in seperate month's

2. do you want pictures of just edible plants?
whatever you all prefer just be sure its clear that a plant is not to be fed we dont want any accidents

3. if possible can you name the plants so that we know what they are, also if someone else recognises them can they edit the post and add the names (or get one of us to do it)?
if im 100% sure of the name i will and if i dont feed an item in quantity i will say.also any distinguishing features can be noted as some good plants look very similar to the not so good or even poisonous ones.if you think a plant name is wrong please say.but i am more concerned with showing what you have fed your tortoises safely for years so people wont have any concerns adding them to their bag of weeds.
