My Sulcata Fluff was 6 1/2 lbs when i got her in aug ,she is now 8 1/2  What i need to know is that at the moment she is grazing about 3 hrs a day and has extra every other day in the way of weeds kale etc .Do i need to supplement her grass diet as we do have lots of it as i believe this should take up 90% of her diet ? Am i feeding her too much ?Even in the real cold she was warming up then out grazing then warming again lunchtime then out grazing again then in at about 5ish then sleep .I know i will have to supplement when the frosts start but should i leave her to just grass now  sorry to be a nuisance :ugeek:

Hi Judith ann

I really am not sure about the eating habits of the Sulcata. Or even how fast they grow. But I am sure somebody will be along soon to help you out.

In the meantime, I have found this link to a feeding guide. I hope it is a bit of help.

Sounds fine to me if she is grazing on grass in the garden, she can do this all day every day with no problems, its when people start feeding them cabbage, crispy salad, etc all day that the problems pop up,the grass in your garden is just Fibre and should be no problems for her to graze on at all

Will get some pics done asap 8-) She has had a massive weight gain and we are not feeding much other than grass .It seems that just the acsess to grazing was enough for her to go from 6 to 10 lbs in in just about nearly 4 months  Just dont think she had enough grazing time .What about Thumbalina ? Has she put on much weight? Will weigh and measure Fluff tomorrow !!!!! and get some pics done xx

hi Judith it sounds like you are doing a great job,i look forward to seeing some pictures soon.my smaller leopards are indoors and having their diet supplemented with lots of chopped grasses.the adults are still in the shed and arent grazeing as well as they were so i may have to start feeding them indoors if the weather gets any worse.thanks to Gail for the link.sulcata station has some great info.

Fluff now measures 13ins and she was 11 when she came to me  . She goes out every day after a warm then comes up to the back door when she wants to come in  The only problem is that she is in the kitchen when the dogs are being fed and just loves their biscuits  We try to shut her in when they are being fed but she will push her way out when she smells their food :) Will they hurt her ?also unbeknown to me the grandchildren have fed her sausage scrambled egg marmite sandwiches and mashed potatoes   Not as part of her main diet i hasten to add  She is now so much a part of our family i couldnt imagine life without her :D Where do you get the grass from now Terry ? I did try readigrass but she wont eat it .We have nice short sweet grass in the front which she likes but thats only available when its not frosty  Do you get frosts in Jersey Terry!!!!
