I am so excited i just had to share this with some one :P After 5 weeks my Sulcata has at long last settled in :P I must admit that when i first had her i didnt get on with her and thought i might have to part with her  She was very timid didnt like baths and wouldnt eat  She spent most of the time trying to get out of our garden, constantly digging and any time any one went near her or passed by she hissed and went into her shell . To be honest i didnt like her at all.I hate to admit that as i love all my pets and protect them fiercely. Then every thing changed :P Dont know why, but first she started taking food from my hand then ate indoors on rainy days and even let me tickle her chin .She also came over when the grandchildren arrived letting them feed her  Then yesterday she was walking down the garden and i said ,Hey you ,ive just been out and picked some lovely dandys and clover , she stopped ,turned round ,looked at me and came over :P :P I was so pleased just had to share it with some one .Then this morning she woke up banging on her door saying let me out :P So dont give up ,they are obviously very sensitive creatures and dont like change :P I hope this friendship will last a very long time :D :D :D :D

Brilliant I am so pleased for you! Now all we need is some photographic evidence...... :D

I know exactly what you mean though, I was asked to take in a tortoise and didn't really want to take on another male but felt bullied into it, we just didn't gel at all and he didn't settle with the others, hassling the girls, bullying the boys... so in the end I did give in and rehome him with a friend. He has settled in really well, has a huge garden and clearly loves being the King of the jungle! He wasn't right for me, but he was for my friend - she loves him!!!

Well done for persevering :D :D

I am so glad you resolved your little dispute with your tortoise. It would have been awful if she had had to be rehomed again.

We will be together as long as i am able to look after her ;) Went to see my daughter leanne today and the last time i saw her and her husband was at a family BBQ 3 weeks ago and she asked if she could have Fluff when i can no longer manage :P She said Phil ,her husband fell in love with her as she was going round the BBQ eating everybodys beefburgers, unbeknown to me i hasten to add,he said that is what i call a tortoise  No wonder she has not been eating her weeds :!: :!: So it looks like she will be in this family for a very long time :D :D
