Hi Everyone,
Started Ben 10 and Zooms wind down on Wednesday, but am now having a panic!
I have not had them tested for worms this year and my vet insists on 3 samples several days apart and then doses them if any of the samples show worms.
Problem is, they had already begun a pre wind down themselves - reducing their waking hours, only eating occassionally etc, so the chances of me getting 3 samples is actually pretty slim I would of thought!
What do others do -
Worm just incase
Try for the samples
Not worry!!!

Any advice greatly appreciated.
Kim

Hi Kimmy

As Tilly, Tom and Tiny have all been active, eating and generally seem well in themselves, I haven't even given worms a thought. I think if they had a heavy load that was going to cause them any harm, they would have shown signs in their behaviour. Tilly has done her own wind down and is now asleep. Tom and Tiny will be have a controlled wind down, a bit later on. I am not concerened about worms at this stage so shall not be worming them before hibernation, unless they show any signs of ill health.

Gail
xx

Totally agree with Gail's advice. I wouldn't worm them unless there were signs of a heavy burden.

Well the boys have had a change of heart on the wind down front and have decided they would like to come back out and play - which I am happy about as there are still plenty of weeds available at the moment so feeding is not a problem.
They are taking it in turns with coming out to explore - yesterday zoom was up out and about, today he's still tucked up in his shed and Ben 10 has decided to venture out.
I give them a bath and feed them every other day - they can forage for themselves on the other days if they want - so wind down can wait until they decide it's time to stop eating.
