Right, in my very small garden I have sectioned of a bit to try and grow some weeds for my torts...it is my 'wild flower section'  Here are some pictures of it! I've had to take them in sections because I used my iphone to take the pics..
Please feel free to ID any plants cos I haven't got the foggiest! Most of the plants in this section came from supposidly 'tortoise weed seeds' (Yeah right!!!!!) (apart from the poppies & sunflowers!), the rest came from where I've picked weeds and re-rooted them..
In this picture there is loads of Sow thistle but despite there being quite a bit it was no good, went 'brown' very quickly & died..why?

The last pic I think is willowherb, it's non toxic, it says best not to feed on the tortoise table. I've never fed it to mine! Or even tried...
Groundsel on the 7th picture.. Do not feed!! And some grass

If I was you ;) when you are feeling better.. I'd dig up your plantain and put in a pot for now.. Collect seed heads off sowthistle.. And dig all the other stuff out, make sure you can get all the buttercup roots and bin the lot. And start again fresh... X x

If you dig up all the ones out of your weed patch ... Pot what you want to keep.. Then keep pulling any out that grow back... Then by the time you put new seeds or plants in, in the spring. You should hopefully have the ones you want growing.. Or Mostly!!!!

I find even in my weed patch, I have to weed out the ones I don't want. My neighbour thinks it's funny- me weeding my weed patch!!
