hi Bruce i am far from an expert on this sub species(hecegovinensis)but from your pictures both these appear to have an inguinal scute which to me makes them boettgeri.im sure you need to know for certain so i would contact either egyptian dan or hermanni chris for a positive id.they may need full plastron pictures because there are other points of identification which may not be viewable in those pictures.any problems contacting Danny or Chris i will try and get a hold of them for you.

You have 2 T.h.hercegovinensis. About 34% of T.h.hercegovinensis have inguinal scutes, but they are much smaller than T.h.boettgeri like you thought Bruce.

thanks very much for your help Danny.also for joining the forum.without your knowledge and experience it would be even harder than it already is to keep the sub species pure in captivity.
