Well, after checking the eggs tonight (day 40) I am 99.9% convinced that my last 6 eggs are infertile. The shells seem thicker and crystalized in appearence then other eggs I have had. I have taken some pictures of three of the eggs. In the last one you can clearly see the yolk at the bottom, then theres clear fluid and the dark spot must be an air bubble cos it moves if you gently move the egg

hmm i have to say i do agree Dawn.they look empty and at 40 days you should be seeing something.i still find it hard to throw them out until they have gone over 60 days myself ,but you normally know by now if they are empty.

If that's the case, Im really sorry to hear that
are you still going to leave them for a while longer??

I will leave them till I go on holiday, if still no signs of fertility which I doubt, then I will turn the incubator off

Oh Dawn. That is sad news. I know you were desperate for some more babies. But hey, the rate your torts have been performing this year, I am sure you will have plenty more eggs in the future.
